We are thrilled to introduce you to 3 new members of the Terra Cultura team! Jessika Le Maire, Carmen Warder, and Javier Aldama joined us in mid-September as part of our internship program, and we are so lucky to have them on board. They each bring unique expertise and a fresh perspective to round out our growing educational programming. Internships are currently remote, with optional socially distanced on-site opportunities, and that hasn’t stopped these 3 from jumping in and collaborating with staff each week. Keep an eye out for them to take over our blog and social media to tell you more about the exciting projects they’re working on here at the educational eco-arts farm.
Carmen Warder
Hello! My name is Carmen Warder and I am from San Francisco. I love getting my hands dirty, literally. My background is in woods work, primitive and survival skills, and greenhouse and farm work. I am very excited to work with Terra Cultura. I hope to learn about the administrative side of a non-profit, and do what I can to help the land and connect with the surrounding community.
Jessika Le Maire
I am a Costa Rican, very fortunate to have lived surrounded by mountains and waterfalls, turtles and congos for most of my life, in a country of farmers and passionate about coffee. Life gave me the gift of being able to also be in this beautiful side of the country and that Terra Cultura accepted me as an intern. My intention is aligned with this organization to strengthen my sense of belonging, through the improvements that can be achieved in the common good of society and the community, and the connection of its sustainable agriculture and art programs. I love to be part of the Terra Cultura Team.
Javier Aldama
Hello everyone, my name is Javier, and I currently live in Watsonville. I am pursuing a degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing, at California State, Monterey Bay due to graduate this fall. I am the first in my family to attend college and I am very thankful for the opportunity. During the course of my college life, I have dedicated the summers to help out my family business and working in various customer-oriented positions along the central coast. Previously also volunteered in the Central Coast Citizenship Project for a couple of months. I love to play soccer in my free time and go to the beach. I am excited to be a part of the Terra Cultura internship program, I hope to gain valuable real-world experience and develop further the skills that will help me in the course of my career as a recent graduate. I want to thank all of the Terra Cultura team for taking me along this journey, I am very grateful for this opportunity.
